Meet and Greet « Thread Started on Aug 11, 2011, 7:50pm » Dracon was more bored than normal. Sure he had a lot of stuff to do but they wasn't anything fun. Work work and more work. Being immortal was one thing but if he didn't do something more than work he could see himself fall over dead. He got up and headed out of his office. "Grey!" he called out but rounded the corner only to be face to face with him. Dracon held his chest, where his heart was. "Good thing if I keel over from a heart attack, I'd come back then I would smack you upside the head." Grey raised an eyebrow. "You called.." he said. Dracon stared at the man. Once again he felt like Grey knew what he was thinking to a point. "Was going to use a cell phone but wondered if you were already nearby." he said. "Anyway, I want to have a party. For all new residents and old. Sort of a meet and greet." Grey nodded and held up his tablet and started to tap on it. "And when would like it?" he asked. "This weekend would be good and it will give people of plenty of time to learn about it." Dracon replied. "Very well. I shall set it up." Grey said and walked off, still tapping on the tablet. Dracon wasn't overly sure if Grey should be the one planning it. He never really saw the man have any fun. The weekend came and the party was announced on TV, newspapers, and fliers. Grey was at the door to meet people while Dracon was nearby. There was music, though he wasn't sure if anyone would want to do any dancing but there was plenty of free food and tables to sit at as well. Her nostrils flared, trying feebly to catch any scents that drifted to her on the minimal breeze. Though she had seen the building many times, this would be her first time entering it, and she was more than excited to see what was inside. As she came to the door, she saw a man standing there, most likely there to meet guests. With a small bow of her head, Sprittez tugged at the upper rim of her left ear in polite greeting. Re: Meet and Greet « Reply #2 on Aug 13, 2011, 1:24am » Kira was on her stomach, reading the paper with her legs moving back and forth. She was bored. Sure she came here so she wouldn't be hunted all the time but it was soo peaceful she almost couldn't stand it. She may have to make trips to other countries for some action. It would seem the governments already had her on some list so it would be easy to get them to come after her. An ad caught her eye though. It would seem there was a party at that mansion again. She suppose it was something to do. She rolled over and got to her feet before finding something to wear. Moments later she was standing outside. Kira headed inside and saw Grey, he was a confusing one to her but she hoped to figure him out sooner or later. The girl had strange energy to her, which was also an interest but she caught sight of Dracon however and crossed over to him. "Greetings Dracon. How nice of you to host a party." Kira said to him. Re: Meet and Greet « Reply #3 on Aug 14, 2011, 10:34pm » Grey looked to Sprittez before giving a short bow. "Greetings dear lady. Welcome." he said. "My name is Grey, personal assistant to Dracon.. Make yourself comfortable and help yourself to the drink and food." He turned back and saw Kira was talking to Dracon. He knew they were trying to figure each other out the last time they were in a room. "There is Dracon." ~*~*~*~ Dracon saw that there were two ladies here already. It was a start but he hoped more people would be coming, it sure would be a small party other wise. This woman he remembered from the Halloween party. "Oh it is nothing. Figured new residents and those who have been living here for some time might like a way to meet each other." he said. "Kira was it?" he added with a smile. She was far removed from a lady, and completely unused to being addressed as such. However, no comment about this escaped her head, and she said, "Thanks, sir. I could really use a bite." With another bow of her head in thanks, Sprittez turned and headed towards the food. She saw the Dracon gentleman, and though it was tempting to go and speak with him, Papa had always taught her not to butt in on a conversation. Though doesn't seem like many are showing up but already I can tell you I have no seen that girl before." she added, "Though think she has the right idea at the moment. See you." she said before walking off. Not that she wanted meat but there was a lot of fruit here. She picked up a plate and started to put some fruit and veggies on it. She ate a couple of carrots before crossing over to the girl. "I haven't seen you before. Are you new?" she asked. "My name is Kira." she added. The scent was weak, but the smell of vampire was one ingrained in the hunter's brain, and could be discerned no matter her form. The hair along her arms and neck raised, but she ignored the natural pugnacity towards the species and said, "I'm new here, ma'am. Rolled into town not more'n a week ago. Name's Sprittez, Miz Kira." With a glance at the vegetables in the woman's hand, a little of the pugnacity drained from Sprittez. "You must be an old hand in this place, then?" Re: Meet and Greet « Reply #7 on Aug 22, 2011, 3:02am » Kira nodded, "I've been here awhile, yes." she said, "Dracon over there had a Halloween party so that's how I know him and Grey over there.." "You know what I am, don't you?" she asked simply. "There's still people that haven't figured that out." she added. "But I would like to point out, I'm not one of those blood sucking vampires.." Kira said with slight disgust in her voice. She was still trying to deprogram herself of thinking she was of the better race but 100s of years if not more of being told that blood sucking vampires were scum would take awhile to not think in such a way. She knew there were different kinds, she just truly hated the ones that attacked humans. Kira ate some more carrots. "I'm an energy and emotion type of vampire. I can get what I need from plants if need be. I can take people's emotion of fear and sadness from them." she said. She would never take upon the emotion of happiness though, even though she wasn't sure what that felt like. "Anyway enough about me." Kira said with a small smile. "Are you some kind of were? I know a were-cat....there's been werewolves but you are much different.." She listened to Kira's explanation, relaxing just a little. So the woman wasn't a bloodsucker, wasn't another predator. She wasn't competition. Sprittez vaguely wondered at how such emotions and energy were siphoned from something, but didn't care so much to interrupt or ignore the question asked. "Er, I'm somethin' like a were. 'Cept I don't need the moon or nothin' to change. I'm a hunter, if it were in English. We're raptor-hominid hybrids." "So then you can change at will since you don't have a set time you have to change?" she asked. Kira started to eat some of the other things on her plate. "Werewolves...and other weres are like kin in a way." Kira said, "At least the ones that were created like I was." "Blood sucking vampires, not so much. Though some were created in the same way as I, my family taught me that they are scum and dirty.." she said. "I have met some that have been alright...I've been trying to deprogram myself..." she was already on no speaking terms with her family so it wouldn't really matter much. Especially hominids." She waved her hand almost dismissively as she spoke. "You go and attack one of theirs, whether it be for sustenance or sport, and they get angry. So they come and try to make you regret it. Doesn't matter at that point who wins or looses--blood's been spilt and it's gonna keep spillin'." The hunter stopped for a second, and winced apologetically. "Er, sorry 'bout bein' so long winded. What I'm tryin' to say is that if you ever see me in a fight with a human, it's 'cause they started it." Her hands dropped into her lap. "So you've been talkin' like you weren't born a vampire. Sometimes there is no choice but to fight.." she said. She sighed, all the wars she had been in, sometimes leaving them alive just wasn't an option expressly when they are trying to kill you. She put a finger to her chin, thinking about her question. "Maybe...it either happened when I was little or while my mom was carrying. Been so long ago...I don't know what it would be like to be human.." she said somewhat distantly. Humans could feel all emotions, she could not. The only thrill she had was fighting. "Sorry I can't truly answer your question, I can't be entirely sure myself." Kira added. Some things you know, others you don't, and you've got to sift through all the information for your truths." She gave a small shrug, "And as for bein' human, I'm not sure. I've noticed they've got the whole range of everythin' under their belts, though. They've got tenacity. Intelligence, too, to a degree. And they're flexible. That's the scary thing: they don't go over or around the mountain, they find their way through it.
