Mini-Profile Tab Suggestions

Well since no one else has started anything yet and I had an idea I wanted feedback on I figured I'd start this up!

Post here any suggestions you have for what to include on the second tab for the mini-profile, and any thoughts you have on current suggestions. Of which are...

- Age (Character)
- Another small banner/avatar/alternate pic
- Current Location of Character
- List of Characters played by member
- Music Player (For Character Theme Song)
- Race (Character)
- Relationship Status (Character)

I was thinking of adding a very simple music player into the profile. It would allow individual members to upload a single audio file into their own mini-profile player. I know there are a lot of people that like having theme songs for characters so this could be an easy way to share such a thing with others.

Yay? Nay? Let me know what you think and add your own ideas to the mix! Don't be afraid to suggest anything.

I think the music player would be a bit much. Personally, I think it would be cool to fill with more info about the charrie, such as relationship status, age, race, current location, and simple basic info for anyone who is interested in working on a plot with that charrie. Sometimes it can be a bit time consuming to search for ones character sheet when looking for something simple.

I will add those to the list. I'm wary of filling the entire thing with specific character information since there are members, such as myself, who have multiple characters on their account. That sort of deal would be better enacted as a Journal system that everyone then just linked to in their signature. Which of course can easily be done if people want it.

I'll play around with it though and see if I can come up with something that works for both to a lesser extent.

I like the changes I'm seeing. I don't quite understand the 'second tab' thing... But I do like the things you are talking about including!

Ah well! You see the 'I' and 'II' on the left side of everyone's mini-profile? Those are clickable tabs that will change what is shown in the corresponding mini-profile. Right now everyone has the exact same thing in the 'II' (second tab), which is a message asking for opinions in this thread.

But! We're hoping to change that to show custom fields and other flashy things that you can fill out under the 'Personal' section of your edit profile. Obviously we don't want to have a flood of things added cause that means a large shwack of fields for people to fill in, but even just added functionality objects such as the 'PM member' link and such could be possibilities.

Look at the left side of your mini profile as you look at this thread. There is a I and a II

If you are using the mobile site these will likely not show up because the mobile version is the bare proboards code only.

I hate to say it...that's not what I see. I'm on a laptop. I never RP from my devices; screens are too small.

What skin are you using? I think maybe you're using the default one.

Unknown. I did not choose a skin. This is the way the board has always appeared to me. I will attempt to see if I can change it. Thank you for being patient with me.

Hurrah, mystery solved! At least it wasn't a browser compatibility problem. If anyone ever sees something that looks fishy on a theme just give me a shout and I'll look into it.

Will also specify on the first post here that this is for the new theme, Golden City, only. Now back to the topic!

what about player info instead of charrie info, such as a list of charries?

I personally don't want players to know *if* I'm playing other characters. So, if that becomes necessary, I will make other accounts; with the exception of a NPC account.

And there's part of the delicate balance between 1/acct & 1+/acct.

Just a note though, none of these fields would be mandatory unless The Guardian declares them so; which is very unlikely given this forum is heavy on the 'free' in many aspects. To fill them would be up to each individual to do so as they please, we just provide the tools to do so.
